INTERPRETATION AND BASICS OF CONE BEAM CT (CBCT)

Did your office just buy the latest and greatest CBCT unit and you want to optimize its use? Did a patient come in the door with a CBCT scan and you want to understand what you’re looking at? This course covers the basics of CBCT along with common incidental findings and anatomical variants. Participants will be guided through cases by anatomical region to familiarize themselves with CBCT scans and anatomy. Recommendations of CBCT use from both the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the American Dental Association will be covered along with application of those recommendations.

Shawneen M. Gonzalez, DDS, MS, Diplomate ABOMR, is the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Clinic and an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry. She received her dental degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, and her oral and maxillofacial radiology certificate and M.S. in Stomatology from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Radiological Society of North American, American Dental Education Association and the American Dental Association.
