Hewlett, DDS
Alumnus of the Year 2010 Dr. Edmond R. Hewlett is a native of Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA from 1972 to 1976 as an undergraduate majoring in Biology, and in 1980 received his D.D.S. degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry. He then completed a 1-year general practice residency program at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago. Returning to Los Angeles, Dr. Hewlett joined the UCLA School of Dentistry faculty in 1982 as a lecturer (part-time). In 1987, Dr. Hewlett was appointed to the full-time academic faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Section of Operative Dentistry, and promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 1994. In February of this year Eddie received committee approval and in July he will be promoted to Professor. Dr. Hewlett is a past Division Chair of Restorative Dentistry at UCLA, and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Division. In June, 2003, Dr. Hewlett completed postgraduate training in Prosthodontics at UCLA and was awarded a certificate in this dental specialty. |
